Why strip EXIF before you share a photo?
Phone photos carry hidden EXIF: GPS coordinates, device model, capture time, and sometimes a name or editor tag. On marketplaces, blogs, email, and original-quality chat sends, that data travels with the file.
Instagram and Facebook usually strip metadata from the public copy, but they still receive the original first. The reliable step is to clean the file on your device. This tool runs in the browser and does not upload files to a processing server.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Are files uploaded to a server?
No. Reading and stripping run in browser JavaScript. Unlike Advanced Image Compression, this page does not call a server API.
Does this reduce JPEG quality?
JPEG pixels are not recompressed. Only EXIF, XMP, and IPTC segments are removed. PNG and WebP lose metadata chunks only. GIF comment blocks are removed.
Can I remove location only?
Yes. GPS only targets the GPS IFD (and EXIF chunks in PNG/WebP). Camera model and exposure stay. Use Remove all if you also want the embedded thumbnail gone.
Does this remove C2PA or pixel watermarks from AI images?
C2PA/JUMBF in JPEG is often dropped with other APP segments. Pixel-level marks such as SynthID are not metadata and cannot be removed here.
Does it support HEIC / original iPhone photos?
Only JPG, PNG, WebP, and GIF for now. Convert iPhone photos to JPG first, or use the format converter.
